Storytelling for Future
Storytelling for Future Photo Exhibition
The exhibition presented photographs taken by students of social work at the University of Ostrava, capturing the most powerful moments that stuck in their minds after encountering stories told by people with experience of social exclusion. The photographs relate to what the students would like to change in society. Common themes include oppression, the disadvantage of one group over another, prejudice, and invisibility. The exhibition also featured short videos with stories of people who have experienced social exclusion.
Experience as a compass
On Friday afternoon, 13 December, a study afternoon organised by the Department of Special Education (Ghent University) and EQUALITY//ResearchCollective (HOGENT) was entirely devoted to “Experience as a compass”.
The afternoon focussed on experiential knowledge and experiential expertise. Clara De Ruysscher (Ghent University - HOGENT) and Alie Weerman (Windesheim University of Applied Sciences – Zwolle, NL) spoke about experiential work in higher education from different perspectives.
The event concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Tijs Van Steenberghe (HOGENT), in which experiential experts and practitioners engaged in dialogue. In between, there was a Photovoice exhibition about the SEKEHE project.

User involvement in research and co-teaching
A part of the conference program for a national conference on user involvement in research. This conference was co-hosted and arranged by the KBT Foundation. It was an excellent opportunity to show what we’ve been doing in SEKEHE and present our findings.
