CONNECT LIVED EXPERIENCE

Networks
During the Erasmus+ project we discovered that other networks were working from a shared mission. So we connected the networks. Here you can find some information on the Power Us Partnership Experiential Knowledge and S.W.E.E.T. projects.

INSPIRATION BY POWER US
PowerUs – Partnership Experiential Knowledge

The PowerUs project is a strategic Erasmus+ partnership involving 12 universities across 10 European countries. It focuses on embedding experiential knowledge — the lived experiences of service users — into higher education curricula for social work and nursing. The project aims to:
-
Promote inclusive and personalized education by valuing personal experiences as a legitimate source of knowledge.
-
Develop pedagogical tools, training programs, and frameworks to support educators and experts by experience.
-
Foster transnational collaboration and collective learning through pilot programs, conferences, and digital resources.
The initiative is structured around seven work packages, including didactical methods, lecturer training, and support kits for experts by experience. It seeks to create a sustainable network that continues beyond the project’s end. [powerus.eu]

SWEET – Social Work Education Expert-by-Experience Toolkit
The SWEET project brings together institutions from France, Belgium, Italy, and Sweden to enhance the participation of service users in social work education. Its goals include:
-
Creating a common pedagogical framework that integrates service users’ perspectives into training programs.
-
Promoting mutual learning between students, academics, and service users.
-
Addressing challenges such as the tokenistic use of testimonies and the one-way nature of participation.
SWEET offers a rich toolkit and roadmap for educators, including practical activities, reflective tools, and documentation of pilot experiences. It emphasizes reciprocity, empowerment, and inclusive learning environments.
